FileMaker Security

Security is a hot topic now –and for good reason: small businesses are the target of most hacking attempts.

In 2013, seventy two percent of data breaches investigated by Verizon Communications’ forensic analysis unit in its latest Data Breach Investigations Report were focused on companies with less than 100 employees.

Small business (1 to 250 employees) accounted for 31% of all targeted attacks last year, compared with 18% in 2011, an increase of 13 percentage points–this according to Symantec’s Internet Security Threat Report 2013 (ISTR).

There’s more: According to Rosemary Tietge, Filemaker Consulting Engineer, 30% of breaches are targeted at small businesses, and 72% of those affected shut down within 24 months.  If you aren’t concerned yet, watch this series of 4 videos as she talks about FileMaker and the threat landscape.
