A virtuoso performance in two parts by Kevin Frank on Virtual Lists:

Part I, with 6 example reports:

In case you aren’t already familiar with virtual lists, in a nutshell, you create a special utility table in your solution, and pre-populate it with “more records than you’ll ever need” (there are 10,000 in today’s demo). The records in this table will derive their data “virtually”, by reading it from some sort of array… typically, one or more variables

Wim Decorte has some hidden gems on ExecuteSQL and Audit lists updated from a DevCon 2014 presentation:

Back in 2014, I did a DevCon session on “Deep-Dive Scripting, an Audit log…”.  The end-result of getting an audit log was not as important as the journey among the new and old scripting and function features. On the various FileMaker forums I see a lot of questions that are related to some of the features that I used in that presentation so we are offering the slide deck and the demo files here for people to take apart and discover.

Benjamin Fehr of EfficientBizz brings us a proof of concept of integrating Google Charts in WebViewer:

Take this as a proof-of-concept for using Google Charts with WebViewer.

What it is:

It’s actually 2 almost similar CustomFunctions for use in WV to build some of the most popular Google Charts, where

GoogleChartsExt      has a link to the GoogleCharts JS on the Google Server

GoogleChartsEmb     has the JS in a FM Text-Field though it would also work offline.

Quote of the Day:
